"Of Mages & Pages" Wizards

Each Wizard's staff stone is the same color as his robes (if there is any question about that)
The Master Magician (who is a human) is the ruler of all the wizards and lives in an apartment within the Golden Castle.
Also, there is no Griffin or Unicorn kingdoms any longer that is why they do not have a protector wizard. Some of the lesser creatures like Minotaurs, pixies, and sprites are taken care of by specific wizards. Marvin watches over the pixies (who live in the sky) as well as the humans. Bruce watches over the minotaurs as well as the greckles. Jeff watches over the sprites as well as the Dragons.

Many in Midieville are quite old, some are even ancient. But the dragon Aju might be one of the most ancient. He is so old and wise that the oldest recordings refer to him as old and wise. Some even claim that one of the dragons depicted in the first stained glass window of creation on the wall of history in the Magenta Forest is Aju, and it probably is. Aju was one of the ancient master mages. While the term mage tends to be interchangeable with the term wizard in the age of wizards, prior to the age of wizards a mage was a very special title.
Aju lived in an ancient temple many believe he built himself. Being an air dragon Aju rarely touches the ground, he doesn't even have legs, just arms and a long flowing tail. He also doesn't have wings, which puzzles many, but air dragons don't need wings to fly. Every dragon has a special breath. Most who know little to nothing about dragons think dragons breathe fire, which is true for some dragons, but other dragons breathe ice, some poison gas, others tar, and the list goes on. A few dragons breathe things that are not physical like ice or fire, Aju is one of these dragons. For Aju breathes wisdom and those he breathes it on either receive their own form of wisdom or are revealed to Aju for what they truly are.
In Aju's temple there were many pupils and Aju is one of the few dragons who has always permitted non-dragons in his presence. Aju is also extremely respected by all dragons and if a non-dragon is seeking out Aju's guidance, dragons will let that person alone instead of eating them or scaring them away from their land. Aju's temple is atop the highest peak of the tallest mountain in the Brown Realm also known as the Dragon Mountains.
Taller mountains exist and used to exist in other realms; like the far northwest of the blue realm where the Pegasus King resides (another Ancient Mage), or even relatively large hills in the lost White Realm where the Giants lived. But a taller mountain is not necessarily easier to traverse. Aju sculpted a trail of trials into the mountain leading to his temple. Even flying creatures find it quite challenging in places. So, those who seek advice or wish to study at the tail of Aju must earn the right.
Though there have been many that have made it to the top of the mountain and up to Aju's temple and he turns them away just by looking at them. Even without his breath he sees with his wisdom those who seek power or knowledge for personal gain. Sometimes he turns someone away not because their quest is selfish, but because through his wisdom he recognizes that he is not a large part of their path. Though in his wisdom he also realizes that just attempting to see him, he is a small part of their path
Legend has it that Hajko and Mubap were the first of Aju's pupils, but they traveled through time so much, it could just be a myth. Though, they did study under

him at some point, and they warned him of Iniquity. In fact, all of the wizards except two trained under Aju and the Master Magician also did not train under Aju. Mirah, the Unicorn who became Jeff the Purple Wizard is the only of the wizards who had never met Aju before the battle with Iniquity. And the Pollywoggle, Norbit A. Bibble, who became Fred the Yellow Wizard was turned away by Aju for not being worthy to learn his magic. One could argue that Rob the Orange Wizard, the dragon who once was Aju did not train under Aju, but Aju would say that when seeking wisdom one must train under oneself to discover if one has found wisdom indeed.
Aju trained many of the sorcerers of the land of Midieville throughout the ages. During the great dragon wars Aju kept to himself and continued to train anyone who he saw fit to be his pupil. At the time of the Dragon Griffin war, Aju offered advice to Rednaw, the Dragon King, but Rednaw did not heed his advice. As a result the vile abomination Racl was born.
During this time Aju had his first two pupils ever to quit by their own volition. Neelcrawn, the Griffin who became Sam the Magenta Wizard and Mewilla, the Sphinx who became Kevin the Gray Wizard left Aju's temple to fight Racl. Aju gave them his blessing when they approached him to leave, but Aju warned them that if they left they would never return to his temple. And they never did.
The very day Neelcrawn and Mewilla left Aju's temple, Enza, the elf who became the first Harry the Red Wizard, and Pensh'te, the pyroclast who became Joe the Black Wizard, arrived at Aju's temple. Enza and Pensh'te were already on a quest to stop Iniquity when they met Aju. Having already met Hajko and Mubap in the distant past, Aju readied Enza and Pensh'te for their task to fight Iniquity.
Not long after Enza and Pensh'te arrived, Iniquity, accompanied by the Fairy King and his army, came to the Brown Realm to sacrifice an innocent dragon female. Aju knew that Enza and Pensh'te were not ready and ordered them to stay and defend the temple while he sent out the rest of his pupils. None of his pupils returned and the Brown Realm was bound to Iniquity's soul at the death of a beautiful young ice dragoness.
Aju wept for his fallen pupils and the dragons who lost their lives in Iniquity's battle. Enza and Pensh'te urged Aju to let them leave and face Iniquity. Aju knew they were not ready and he trained them vigilantly. Aju, the wisest creature in all of Midieville realized he was a fool to think his pupils could stop Iniquity. The rest of the realms fell to her power and Aju finally decided it was time for Enza and Pensh'te to face Iniquity. However, they would not face her alone and Aju left his temple for the first time since it was built.

As Aju left the tip of his tail ever so gently tapped the edge of one brick and the entire temple crumbled to dust. Aju knew he will never return and for the first time in his long wise life, he feared for the future. Aju, Enza, and Pensh'te met up with many of Aju's previous pupils as well as Norbit, Equity, and Mirah at the entrance of the Magenta Forest. Together they formed a plan to stop Iniquity.
Aju used his wise breath to inspire Equity and Equity created the web of magic between the 13 of them. Aju, breathed on Iniquity and revealed her true form to the other 12, she was just a collection of knowledge, all her power and ambition had filled her with knowledge, but no wisdom. She holds the fate of Midieville in her soul, but has no wisdom with what to do with that power. This truth inspired Equity again and as her knowledge was pulled out of her onto pages, he turned her into a box to contain those pages.
Aju became Rob the Orange Wizard of Air and departed the group traveling southwest to the Red Realm to govern over the Satyrs. He set up a home not very far from his final two pupils, for Joe the Black Wizard moved to the northern part of the Red Realm and Harry the Red Wizard lived just across the river on the eastern boarder of the Green Realm. Rob still spends most of his time meditating.

Norbit A. Bibble was an unexceptional Pollywoggle with a penchant for finding himself in quite exceptional situations. He was one of the unfortunate ones enslaved during the conquering dragon Branclo's reign, he also endured torture and nearly died at the hands of his former friend Ribbit T. Jibbit, only to be revived by a potion administered to him by Ribbit’s sister Fiddle D. Jibbit.
The potion used by Fiddle to cure Norbit came with a curse. While it restored his health and granted him with incredibly long-life, that long-life would come with a slow aging process that would eventually take both his physical and mental faculties long before death. This was a fate Norbit shared with Fiddle. Though with many centuries before such negative effects might occur, Norbit resolved to keep a positive outlook. He vowed to make the most of his exceedingly long life. And his first step in that plan was to propose to Fiddle. Norbit and Fiddle had been friends since childhood, and he had always had a crush on her. But Fiddle had an adventurous spirit and seldom stayed at home for very long. She would never be content to settle down and marry. But with so many years in front of them, there was plenty of time for both adventure and family. And with only each other to share those years with, it made sense to Fiddle to open up her heart to Norbit’s love.
In the years to follow Fiddle continued to perfect her newly discovered magical form of alchemy and word of her successes began to spread across the lands. Soon would-be magicians of all races started coming to Pollywoggle Harbor to study under her. Fiddle’s wisdom and prowess earned her respect in league with four wise mages. And her first student was Norbit. Fiddle worked with him for three full years before taking on any other students. But try as he might, Norbit could not produce so much as one simple reaction. At first Fiddle thought she was simply a bad teacher, or that perhaps alchemy was something only she was capable of. But when a second student, a satyr named Trupp, requested to learn under Fiddle, and began to pick up the skill very quickly, both of the Pollywoggles realized that Norbit’s lack of aptitude was the real problem.
And so Norbit stopped trying to learn from Fiddle. Instead, he began serving as her assistant. He helped to run her school, attended to the needs of the students, and sometimes even went on errands to gather whatever materials Fiddle had need of. Norbit was happy in his role for many decades. He was content just to be with Fiddle. But over time her adventurous spirit began to wear off on him and Norbit started to long for adventures of his own.
With a tearful goodbye, and a promise to return before too long, Norbit left Pollywoggle Harbor and enrolled in the Elvin School of Magic. The High Elf of Magic could sense that Norbit might not be adept in any magical ways, but given the reputation of Norbit’s wife, he was allowed to learn under the Elvin apprentices. Norbit studied for many years, but just as he was never able to learn alchemy, the magic of the elves eluded him as well.
Feeling defeated, Norbit returned home, though not for long. He stopped only for a few months so he could catch up with Fiddle, but also to tell her he was resolute to not stop trying to learn some form of magic. This made Fiddle uneasy. She couldn’t bring herself to fully admit it, but deep down she was afraid that Norbit simply had no potential

for magical skill. She feared his journey would lead to his demise. But she couldn’t bear to tell him and break his spirit. So instead she thought of another way to help him. Using her alchemy, Fiddle created two pouches. Whatever was placed in one would magically be transported to the other. If nothing else, Fiddle and Norbit could use these pouches to communicate. And in a pinch Fiddle could send Norbit pre-mixed ingredients that he could use to perform spells.
After packing a bag for his long journey and once again saying goodbye to his beloved wife, Norbit left Pollywoggle Harbor, not intending to return until he could wield magic. He first set out in search of the mysterious Pegasus King. Fiddle once had a brief encounter with the Pegasus King in which he predicted she would discover a new branch of magic: alchemy. So Norbit’s first stop was the very field where this fateful meeting occurred. Norbit set up camp in the field and waited for months, only leaving to gather food and water. But the Pegasus King never showed himself and eventually Norbit decided to move on and find other teachers.
While studying at the Elf School, Norbit had learned about several distinguished magicians throughout Midieville. Most highly regarded were the five wise mages: Fiddle and The High Elf of Magic, whom Norbit had already tried to learn under, The Pegasus King, The Sprite King, and Aju the dragon. Norbit had already learned that the Pegasus King was one of the most elusive beings in Midieville, but he also dreaded the process of even trying to reach Aju as it would mean a dangerous climb into the Dragon Mountains. Norbit thought that he would exhaust his other options before attempting this trek.
In addition to the five wise mages, however, there were still many other magicians who were viewed in high esteem. One of them was Klatch the Greckle. Norbit had met Klatch while studying under the High Elf of Magic and respected him as one of the High Elf’s best pupils. Klatch intrigued Norbit because, while many races are known for their magical abilities, Greckles, much like Pollywoggles, typically have no magical skill. Norbit hoped that Klatch might know secrets to teaching magical ways to those without a natural inclination.
Norbit learned that Klatch, being gentle and compassionate compared to other Greckles, had taken up residence in the Forbidden Caves so he could be apart from his people while still keeping an eye on them. So Norbit began a long journey across Midieville and found him. But Klatch was reluctant to train the young Pollywoggle. Many years before, another Pollywoggle, Ribbit T. Jibbit, had traveled to Greckle Keep to train with the Greckles. His intentions were pure, to rescue his people from the ferocious dragon Branclo, but in the end he became a conqueror as well. Klatch wondered if being trained by Greckles had warped Ribbit’s mind, so he refused to train Norbit.
But Norbit was persistent. He camped in front of Klatch’s cave for months and pleaded with the Greckle every morning, and every morning Klatch sternly told him to go away, sometimes even chasing him off. Klatch was gentle for a Greckle, but Norbit quickly found he was still gruff compared to most other creatures. Finally one day Norbit began to tell Klatch his full story. He revealed to him that he had been enslaved by both Branclo and Ribbit, and that Ribbit had tortured him and left him to die. Norbit reasoned that he understood the suffering brought on by tyrants and therefore he could never become one. Unfortunately Klatch did not believe Norbit’s story. Those events had

occurred at least a century earlier and Pollywoggles rarely live more than 80 years. Norbit, who appeared somewhat youthful, couldn’t possibly have been alive at that time.
This left Norbit no choice but to confide the rest of his story to Klatch. He explained how Fiddle D. Jibbit, whom he later married, saved him with a potion that granted him long life through slow aging. He lamented about how he was destined to lose his mind to senility and his body to age generations before he would ever die.
Feeling sorry for Norbit, Klatch finally agreed to try to train him. Klatch began by telling his story to Norbit. All Greckles are made of rock, he explained, but not the same type of rock. Some are much bigger or denser than others. Klatch, while still quite large compared to Norbit, was small for a Greckle, and brittle in comparison to the greatest Greckle warriors. Thus he learned quite early in his life that he would not survive long if he subscribed to the violent ways of his people. Instead, Klatch dedicated himself to all forms of knowledge and wisdom. In his quest for knowledge he stumbled into magic and only then did he seek out training from two of the wise mages: Aju and the High Elf of Magic. Klatch believed that Norbit’s problem was that he was searching in the wrong place. Instead of pursuing magic itself Klatch told him to pursue knowledge and let magic come to him in its own time.
Under Klatch Norbit studied the history of all of the lands of Midieville, including the lost lands. He learned all about the various creatures and races, vegetation, and geology of the land. He researched science, government, agriculture, medicine, and countless other subjects. Occasionally Norbit would ask if he was any closer to learning magic, and every time Klatch would tell him to be patient and wait. For years Klatch taught Norbit until one day the Greckle told him that he had no more information to share. Klatch said that it was time for him to leave Greckle Keep and expand his own knowledge and welcomed Norbit to join him.
The two traveled together for many weeks. But then it dawned on Norbit that they were heading toward Pollywoggle Harbor. When he confronted Klatch with this information, Klatch admitted that he was hoping to train under Fiddle D. Jibbit and learn of one of the few subjects he knew nothing about. He confessed that he did not believe he could ever teach Norbit magic, and instead urged him to return home and spend as many of his youthful years as he could with his wife.
Norbit agreed to return to Pollywoggle Harbor with Klatch, but the next night as Klatch slept, Norbit quietly packed up his things and fled. He had made a vow not to return home without learning magic and he did not intend to break it. Instead, he took out the magic pouch Fiddle had given him and he used it for the first time. He sent his wife a note saying he loved her but that his quest was not over. He also asked her to take on Klatch as a student and to tell the Greckle he was sorry for abandoning him. A few moments later Fiddle sent a note back expressing her love and agreeing to his request.
Going off of the knowledge he’d learned under Klatch, Norbit decided to explore the Woodlands of Mystery. He hoped that these enchanted woods might harbor secrets about magic – especially since so many magically adept creatures lived within. But after many weeks of exploring the only thing he found was that it was an easy place to get lost. Even with Klatch’s extensive teaching about the forest Norbit could not find his way out. The poor Pollywoggle had all but given up hope when suddenly he saw a great, sparkling light coming down from the cloud. “It’s the Pegasus King!” he thought,

remembering that the fabled horse had visited Fiddle only in her moment of greatest need. But as the light descended he realized that it wasn’t just one big light, but thousands of tiny lights. In fact, the lights were pixies, and they were carrying another creature: a dwarf. As soon as the dwarf reached the ground he said thank you and the pixies dissipated in a flash. Norbit approached the dwarf, who introduced himself and Emlirn, hoping that anyone who could ride on a bed of pixies must be a truly great sorcerer.
It turned out that Emlirn indeed was a powerful magician. But he refused to train Norbit, and something about his tone made Norbit understand that, unlike Klatch, the dwarf would not eventually change his mind. Emlirn explained to Norbit that he was on a mission to help all of the creatures of Midieville and that he did not have time to train an apprentice. But he offered to let Norbit join him and help however he could, and if he happened to pick up any magic along the way then so be it. Where Klatch thought the secret to magic was knowledge, Emlirn believed that it was actually kindness and compassion. While Emlirn believed that Norbit was a genuinely good Pollywoggle, he felt that his intentions for learning magic were too selfish and that perhaps if he focused on helping others he might develop a care for others that would make him worthy of magical ability.
And so Norbit traveled with Emlirn for many years, seeking out anyone in need of help. It was quickly evident to Norbit that Emlirn was quite possibly the most powerful magician he had ever seen. Whatever the situation called for it seemed Emlirn had a spell that he could perform with ease. And what truly fascinated Norbit was that no matter how great or how small the task, Emlirn was willing to jump in and help. He was equally eager to assist a peasant as he was a king. Soon Norbit started to understand why Emlirn believed the secret to magic was compassion.
As Emlirn’s fame grew, more and more students of magic sought him out. He refused to take on any as apprentices, but he allowed any to join him who simply wished to help. Most turned away saddened at Emlirn’s offer, but slowly their party grew. The first to join was a unicorn named Mirah, soon others followed. Even Klatch joined their team, and Norbit was quite thankful to learn the Greckle had fully forgiven him. The band of wandering helpers traveled through Midieville for many years, and while Norbit didn’t learn any magic in the process, he did learn compassion.
One day while traveling from the Gold City, Norbit’s greatest wish came true. With no warning, a great winged horse swooped down out of the sky and stood before the group of adventurers. It was the Pegasus King. He pulled Emlirn aside and whispered something to him. Norbit couldn’t tell what was said, but based on the look on Emlirn’s face it appeared to be quite serious. Then just as quickly as the Pegasus King arrived he vanished again. “We have been invited to the Pegaus Kingdom,” Emlirn said, “and we must go quickly!”
Norbit was ecstatic. Surely the Pegasus King would finally teach him magic! But his hopes were quickly squashed when Emlirn asked to speak privately with him. He told the hopeful Pollywoggle that only the magical beings on the team were allowed to enter the Pegasus Kingdom and he ordered Norbit to leave the group because he wasn’t allowed to know where the entrance to the kingdom was. Norbit was crushed. His greatest hope of ever learning magic had been denied him.

Distraught and alone, Norbit wandered the lands of Midieville as a vagrant, no longer seeking to help others or to learn magic. One afternoon Norbit sat wasting the day away at a pub in Sphinx City when in walked a small gnome and a pig-centaur. The two sat at a table adjacent to Norbit and he couldn’t shake the feeling that they were watching him. Finally in frustration Norbit yelled at them, “What do you want!?” The centaur stood up and snorted, but the gnome slowly crept toward Norbit and quietly said, “Are you Norbit A. Bibble?”
Norbit didn’t recognize either of the creatures and he couldn’t understand how they knew him so in his bitterness he simply lashed out at the two and told them to leave him alone. The centaur seemed agitated and kept saying, “It isn’t time yet,” but the gnome seemed genuinely concerned and kept babbling on to the centaur as the pair started to make their way out of the pub. It was only when the gnome used the words “great sorcerer” and “Norbit” in the same sentence that the Pollywoggle perked up and tried to listen. Norbit chased them down and tried to ask the gnome what he was talking about, but the centaur said, “Not now,” insisted they had to leave, and pushed Norbit back inside. As the door closed the gnome shouted, “Please don’t give up on your quest!” Norbit immediately opened the door back up the pair was gone.
At first Norbit wondered if he’d hallucinated the whole thing or if it was just his imagination. But as days went by he couldn’t shake the encounter. Suddenly he had a new twinge of hope and he resolved to seek out the last option he felt he had left for learning magic: Aju the dragon, the one remaining mage for Norbit to try to learn from.
Just getting to the Dragon Mountains was a long and perilous journey, beginning in the desert and moving through the golden lands. Then Norbit had to climb through seemingly endless peaks and valleys just to reach the base of Aju’s mountain. The path up the mountain was treacherous. Norbit had to traverse razor sharp rocks, scale tall cliffs that were as smooth as glass with almost nowhere to hold on, and brave ferocious winds and bitter cold temperatures. But he pressed on in the hope that the determination to complete the journey would be the secret to learning magic.
Finally, after days of climbing, Norbit reached the summit and caught a glimpse of Aju’s temple. Parched, hungry, and exhausted, Norbit slowly crawled to the entrance and looked upon the aged, wise dragon. The Pollywoggle had no more than opened his mouth to ask if he could be trained when Aju raised his arm, pointed toward the exit, and said, “Go. You are not worthy.”
Norbit was stunned and angry, but he knew better than to argue with the revered mage. He had no choice but to leave. And not only that, but also to admit defeat. He couldn’t even fathom how long his quest to learn magic had lasted him, perhaps it had been centuries since he’d first left Pollywoggle Harbor, and here he had nothing to show for it. Norbit wanted to use his magic pouch to ask Fiddle for food and water, but he didn’t have any paper to write a note on. So as a latch ditch effort he put the opening of the bag up to his mouth and said, “Help!”
It worked. And sensing the desperation in her husband’s voice, not only did Fiddle send back a canteen and a loaf of bread, but also something that looked like a smooth black rock. Then Fiddle spoke into her pouch, “Think of home, throw the stone at the ground, and it will transport you back.”
Norbit ate the bread and water and thought all about Pollywoggle Harbor. But in addition to fond memories of his home and his wife, Norbit also felt shame and he didn’t

know if he could show his face there again. So he shifted his mind to thoughts of the Golden City and then threw the stone at his feet. It exploded in a cloud of thick, black smoke, and when the smoke cleared Norbit was standing at the gate of the Golden City. A few people screamed at his sudden appearance and a young boy shouted, “Look, mommy, a magician!” Norbit almost corrected the child, but then he got an idea: if he couldn’t learn magic himself, perhaps he could borrow magic from Fiddle.
Norbit spoke into the pouch that he had one more idea for learning magic and couldn’t return home until he’d tried, and then he asked Fiddle for a levitation spell. Soon he received a relic that allowed him to float several feet above the ground and he used it to walk on air to the center of the marketplace. All eyes were on Norbit as he asked for more and more items and started to put on a show. He threw small pebbles in the air that turned into delicious fruit when people caught them, he dropped a lump of clay onto the ground that made all animals nearby come to him and obey any order he gave them, he splashed a liquid toward the booth of a merchant selling instruments that made the instruments play a song, and for his grand finale he smashed two rocked together that turned into a ball of fire that slowly rose just over the tops of the buildings, and then exploded into an incredible fireworks display. Then Norbit floated to the ground to greet the crowd of enamored spectators. Some simply wanted a better look at the exciting magician while others asked him for help that Norbit gladly agreed to provide for a small fee.
Meanwhile Fiddle sat in her chamber at her school of alchemy, knowing deep down that Norbit couldn’t possibly be using the concoctions she was sending him with pure intentions. But out of pity for her husband, and perhaps guilt for giving him the potion that had resigned him to a terrible fate one day, she lied to herself that Norbit truly needed these things and continued to send him whatever he asked for. Though in hopes of bringing Norbit home, Fiddle sent him another teleportation stone, promised it would be the only one she’d ever send, and told him to use it to one day when he was ready to come back.
Enjoying his newfound fame, and the wealth that came with it, Norbit was content to let this arrangement continue for as long as Fiddle would allow it. And so he traveled the lands for many years, putting on shows, tricking people into believing he was a magician, and selling his magical services to the highest bidders.
The kindness and compassion that Norbit had learned many years earlier while traveling with Emlirn was still there weighing on his conscience, but for a long time he managed to ignore it. Over time Norbit became racked with shame for tricking people and using Fiddle’s magic for his own selfish ends. Initially the guilt of being a fraud was far outweighed by the fear of being exposed as one. But after many years that guilt began to build and Norbit felt like a shell of who he used to be. He knew he couldn’t continue deceiving and taking advantage of others, but he also felt like he could never return home and face Fiddle either. So Norbit took the small teleportation stone out of his pocket, thought about a remote part of the Lava Lands, threw the stone and vanished.
As soon as Norbit arrived in the oppressively hot land he pulled his magical pouch out of his pocket, whispered “I love you” into it, and then turned the pouch inside out. By pushing the pouch through its own opening, it transported itself into Fiddle’s pouch. For the first time in centuries Norbit was truly alone. He set up a home for himself in a cave

on a summit that was high enough to escape the deadly heat and fumes of the lava below, although it was still an incredibly uncomfortable existence.
Among the Pyroclasts in the land there began to develop rumors of a crazy old sorcerer who lived at the top of one of the mountains, though none of them dared to check and see if the rumors were true for fear that the magician would harm them. But then one day the curiosity of a young Pyroclast named Pensh’te got the better of him and he searched the mountains and found Norbit. Pensh’te sheepishly asked Norbit if he would train him in the ways of magic. Seeing the fear in the would-be pupil’s face, Norbit realized that he had a chance to try and set himself on the right path again by offering help to another person. So Norbit admitted the truth to Pensh’te that he didn’t know any magic, but he offered to take him to someone who could.
With the eager Pensh’te at his side, Norbit finally left his cave and began yet another journey across Midieville. They traveled all the way back to the Dragon Mountains that he’d visited so long ago, and then made the perilous climb up the mountain of Aju’s temple. Whether it was because he knew the way better, or because he had a companion to help him, Norbit found the trek much easier the second time. When they reached the top it saddened Norbit to hear Aju welcome Pensh’te as an apprentice. Though Aju still did not accept Norbit as a pupil, he did seem to look upon him with compassion as the Pollywoggle turned to make his way back down the mountain.
After leaving the Dragon Mountains, Norbit back to the marketplace of the Gold City. He felt good about helping someone again, and suddenly it seemed the weight of his guilt had been lifted off of him. He was still ashamed of how he’d taken advantage of Fiddle, but he felt foolish to believe that she wouldn’t forgive him. So finally, after countless years away from Pollywoggle Harbor, Norbit decided to return home. Except as soon as he had taken one step in that direction, two creatures suddenly appeared right in front of him. It was the gnome and the pig centaur he’d met years earlier, and by the looks of things they’d hardly aged a day. They introduced themselves as Hajko and Mubap.
“Now it’s time!” Mubap said, and Hajko began to explain that Norbit was vitally important for a quest that would determine the fate of Midieville. Norbit explained that he wasn’t a real sorcerer, that he’d spent his entire life trying to learn magic with no success, and that he’d eventually used his wife’s powers to trick people into thinking he was a great magician. He reasoned that Fiddle was actually the Pollywoggle they needed for their mission, but Mubap insisted that it had to be Norbit. Then Hajko began to tell his own story. He spoke of being timid, despite his great magical ability, how he allowed his fear to stop him from trying to save his friends, and how as a result an evil sorceress named Iniquity was able to defeat the High Elf of Magic and begin a reign of terror over all of the lands of Midieville. But then Hajko told Norbit how he’d finally discovered the courage to stand up to Iniquity, and that it was courage, not magical skill, that would ultimately defeat her.
Norbit couldn’t believe that during the years he spent hiding in the Lava Lands a sorceress was able to rise to power and harm so many people. He wondered if he would have been able to do anything to stop her if he hadn’t been so absorbed in self-pity. After all, he was able to help a great many people during his years traveling with Emlirn even though he couldn’t use magic.

So Norbit agreed to go with Hajko and Mubap under the condition that they first stop at Pollywoggle Harbor so he could apologize to Fiddle and say goodbye to her, possibly for the last time should their mission not go well. In a flash, Mubap transported the three to Fiddle’s school of alchemy and Norbit was overcome with emotion when his wife immediately ran up and hugged him. They went into Fiddle’s private chamber and spoke for hours. They joked about how old they were both starting to look, and Norbit couldn’t help but notice how aloof Fiddle acted. It seemed as though a bit of dementia had set in. Norbit feared that Fiddle worrying about his safety and whereabouts over the years might have taken a toll on his wife’s mind. Finally, it was time for Norbit to say goodbye, but before he left Fiddle gave him back his magical pouch and they vowed that as long as both of them lived they wouldn’t be completely apart again.
Norbit, Hajko and Mubap left Pollywoggle Harbor and met up with ten other sorcerers, among them were Klatch, Emlirn, Mirah, and Pensh’te. In fact, Norbit recognized almost all of the other magicians from his years of traveling through Midieville. The leader of the party, Equity, explained their plan to defeat Iniquity, and the most dangerous job of all fell to Norbit. He would have to confront her face to face and use his skills of showmanship to distract her with the real magicians used their combined powers to stop her. Norbit thought it was just that the very tactics he’d used to deceive others in the past he would now have to use to help the whole world, and that in the process they would most likely get him killed.
But in the end Norbit managed to survive, along with all 12 of the magicians, and Iniquity was defeated. In the aftermath of the battle, Equity brought the magicians together, granted them with additional powers, and set up the Wizard Council to govern all of magic and reality itself. As Equity began the process of bestowing these powers to the sorcerers, Norbit, believing he did not fit in with such a powerful team, thought he would quietly exit and return home. But Equity stopped him and explained that while for Norbit knowledge, compassion, determination, and adventuring weren’t the secrets to learning magic, in his case perseverance was. Then Equity gave Norbit a new name: Fred the Yellow Wizard. Equity handed him a staff and a bowl of light that told him to pour over himself. When he did, he felt a wave of power sweep through every fiber of his being. Norbit, or rather Fred, had finally learned magic, and he vowed that this time he would never use it for selfish gain.

Leon (Green Wizard) The Sanctified Satyr

The Sanctified Satyr
PG1
In the southeast most part of Midieville, just at the edge of the red swamp, live the Satyrs. Satyrs are half-man half-goat people and the word Satyr actually refers to the race and the male version of that species. Female satyrs are called nymphs. Satyrs are quite mischievous people and like to cause trouble and play pranks on one another as well as other creatures. Their favorite peoples to play pranks on are the Pollywoggles with whom they share the red swamp.
Drebda was an ordinary satyr, accustomed to playing pranks and causing mischief, but Drebda was also curious about learning magic he could use it to pull the best pranks. Drebda learned some simple spells from a Pollywoggle shaman, but none of them were that useful for pranks or mischief. Eventually Drebda decided to venture out of the red swamp in search of more magic to cause mischief.
Drebda travelled north from the red swamp into the land of men. In the golden city he found a beautiful young woman named Iniquitie who also had a thirst for magic. She had learned much more than Drebda by the time he met her, and he begged her to teach him some of the more mischievous spells. Iniquitie liked the mischievous spells the best and taught Drebda all she knew.
Now, don't mistake Drebda's pranking for evil. He was no more evil than any ordinary satyr, and didn't ever want to cause anyone harm, irritation and annoyance at the worst. So, it came as a shock to Drebda when Iniquitie began seeking out spells and magic to cause true harm. Drebda feared that Iniquitie was traveling down a path toward true evil. Somewhere he did not want to follow.
However, Drebda had grown fond of Iniqutie, not in a romantic sense, but more in a teacher/student way. He continued to follow her as she ventured away from the city of men and to the archives of the watcher elves. Together, they studied the histories of Midieville and learned of ancient stories of deep magic. Their studies led them to learn that the well of all magic is found at the corner of creation where the wall of stained glass sits in the Magenta Forest.
Drebda urged Iniquitie to explore other lands before venturing to the Magenta Forest. He feared that once she would have access to the well of magic, she would become corrupt. So, instead of going to the Magenta Forest, Iniquitie decided that they should set up a camp in the phoenix aviary and study the mystical creatures who burned without end and were not consumed by their fire.
Iniquitie and Drebda lived together in the phoenix aviary for about a year, and all the while Drebda grew more and more tired of Iniquitie's ways. She would capture one phoenix at a time in a magic bubble and experiment on it. At first, it was simple things,

like trying to extinguish it's flame or see if it could actually carry on a conversation instead of just repeating what it had been told. However, as time went on, she started trying to kill the birds.
It is said that phoenixes are essentially immortal, they do die, but when they die, their bodies fall into a pile of ashes and they are born again from the ashes. Iniqtuie tried to stop this process, to see why it happened and how to replicate it in other creatures. Eventually, she discovered a very dark spell that would take the life from a phoenix and transfer it to the spell-caster. Before long, Iniquitie held several phoenixes in such spells and drank in their everlasting life. Drebda wanted someone to help him stop Iniquitie, but he didn't know how to get away from her.
As luck would have it, a wise dwarf sorcerer by the name of Emlirn came to the phoenix aviary seeking out Iniquitie. He had heard of her interest in magic and wanted to teach her. When he saw her experiments on phoenixes he warned her not to dive too deeply into the darker magics, for it could corrupt her soul. She called him a fool and dismissed him. Drebda tried to fallow Emlirn, but Iniquitie would have none of it. Drebda planned to escape that night.
This proved more difficult than he had thought. Iniquitie captured Drebda as he tried to escape and set out toward the Magenta Forest with him unwillingly still at her side. Once in the Magenta Forest, Iniquitie poured over the images in the stained glass comparing them to the histories she had stolen from the elves. As she did this, a new window appeared, the glass was not yet formed, but she knew this meant something of significance was unfolding.
Iniquitie sought out the fairy king near the wall and forced him to teach her spells of greater knowledge. Her rejuvenated life force made her more and more irresistible to men and the fairy king soon fell in love with her and pledged that his people would always fight at her side. Drebda had seen the evil that had overtaken her heart and his eyes were not blinded by her beauty.
Iniquitie learned that to have true dominion over a realm of Midieville, she must sacrifice a creature of that realm. So, the fairy king brought out his own daughter and Iniquitie killed her in an ancient ritual. Drebda was forced to watch this terrible act, but realized that he had forgotten a satyr's one true magic. A satyr can become invisible if they stand still and hold their breath long enough. It had been so long that Drebda had been seeking magic that he had forgotten his own.
As Drebda watched the atrocity of the slaying of the fairy princess, he held his breath out of fear and terror. As soon as the princess was dead and the ceremony over, Iniquitie looked around and panicked! She thought Drebda had fled. The entire

Fairy kingdom set out toward the red swamp with Iniquitie at their lead. But in reality, Drebda had not moved, he just stood where he had been and held his breath.
As soon as the whole band of fairies and Iniquitie had left his sight, he took a deep breath and began to run. He ran all the way to the very edge of the Magenta forest, where the forest soil turns to sand and the yellow desert begins. Drebda couldn't be too hasty and knew he had to wait for night to make his way into the desert and take refuge in the sphinx city.
As night fell, Drebda set out and ran toward the sphinx city and once he was safely in the walls of the city he sought out a wise sorcerer named Mewllia and told him all about Iniquitie and her crimes. Mewllia led Drebda to a Griffin refugee who was also a sorcerer and his name was Neelcrawn. Neelcrawn had been the head of the Griffin sorcerers before the Griffin city was destroyed by the great monster Racl. Neelcrawn had personally witnessed Emlirn defeat Racl and put him into a deep sleep and knew Emlrin would be a good person to seek advice about how to handle Iniquitie.
The three sorcerers all knew that Emlirn would most likely be their best hope since he was one of the wisest and most widely known sorcerers in the land. But the one problem was that he was a nomadic sorcerer and they didn't know how to find him. So, Drebda suggested they go to the realm of men and seek out any sorcerer who might know more about Iniquitie, since she was of the race of men.
Together the three sorcerers flew to the city of men, Drebda riding on the back of Mewllia. Once at the city of men, they asked about a sorcerer, and quickly learned that a great sorcerer of men had ventured out with Emlirn the dwarf sorcerer in search of help to defeat an evil that was taking over the world. The three sorcerers learned that in her search for Drebda, Iniquitie had stopped briefly to sacrifice a centaur girl in order to take dominion over the Woodlands of Mystery.
Drebda knew that the watcher elves might have recorded some valuable information about Iniquitie and the fairies. So, the three sorcerer's went to the elven forest and sought the recent records. They learned that not only had Iniquitie sacrificed a centaur girl, but had gone on to do the same to a young pollywoggle female, a dragoness, and had recently made a sacrifice to a sprite princess near the forbidden caves.
Drebda knew they could keep following her, but she had obviously given up on finding him. Her real goal now was to take dominion over all the eight realms in Midieville.
In his research at the elf records with Inquitie, Drebda had learned of the path of Selaxi, and how that path was a sacred spiral, how he had taken over the minds of all

the creatures of the eight realms one by one. Drebda deduced that Iniquitie was following that path in reverse, capturing the spirit of the land in her very soul and binding herself with the world.
If his theory was correct, her next stop would be the Lava Lands and then the Desert and finally the Golden City. They had to stop her from killing more innocent girls. So, they each set out to the different lands, Neelcrawn to the Lava Lands, Mewllia to his home of the Desert, and Drebda to the Golden City. All three of them had been too late to stop Iniquitie from even killing one innocent girl. She had taken dominion of the world and they had failed.
But it was not too late to stop her tyranny from progressing further. She had murdered eight girls of eight majestic creatures; she had taken within her soul dominion over the very elements of reality itself, but she had not yet taken dominion over the peoples of Midieville, the sentient creatures who freely lived their lives in relative peace. The three sorcerers knew they had to stop her.
And as luck would have it again, Emlirn and the great sorcerer of men found Drebda, Mewllia, and Neelcrawn. They had been gathering other sorcerers themselves and numbered ten already before finding the three. Then the thirteen journeyed to the Magenta Forest. Drebda had suspected that Iniquitie would make her home as close to the well of magic as possible, and he was right.
The thirteen managed to stop Iniquitie and turn her into a box; her knowledge and magic bound to pages within that box. The thirteen became the Master Magician and the wizards. Drebda was given a new name, Leon the Green Wizard, he was to keep the element of fire in check and watch over the gnomes in the Magenta Forest. Mewllia became Kevin the Gray Wizard, he was in charge of night and had the daunting task of watching over the fairies (who had soon realized their evil ways and repented, though there were still many loyal to Iniquitie in the fairy kingdom). Neelcrawn, renamed Sam The Magenta Wizard, took upon the task of keeping the element of earth in balance and looking after the Pyroclasts of the Lava Lands. Leon, Kevin, and Sam all live fairly close to one another and stay in close contact.
Once after quite a while of peace, Leon discovered that a gnome named Teento had found the book that once had been his old master, Iniquitie. Still feeling a sense of responsibility for the whole situation, he decided to handle the matter on his own. He bound the tongue of Leon and didn't let him speak any spells ever again. After that he created many fake copies of the spellbook and hid them around the world. Some think he knew which one was real, but in actuality, he didn't. She tried to talk to him, to play to his sense of nostalgia, make him think there was a chance he could help redeem her,
but Leon put a memory spell on himself so he would not remember anything she said to him and would not remember where he put the real spellbook.

Hajko was a typical gnome in many ways, however, his parents recognized early on that he was especially gifted in magic. Now gnomes are typically adept at magic, having no real unique magic to their kind, but many over the ages have become magicians and sorcerers. Hajko's parents, Jajko and Majko, took him to all the magicians and sorcerers in the gnome kingdom to see if any would be willing to help their son hone his natural skills. All refused, but one older gnome sorcerer suggested that Hajko should study in a different land, under one of the wise old mages.
In the time before the Age of Wizards, there were only 5 wise mages in all the realms of Midieville. The Pegasus King was the most fabled and so aloof and secretive many still to this day think of him as merely myth. The Sprite King, who held the keys to the sprite powers of levitation and making magic weapons and armor. Master Aju, the Dragon Mage, who lived on the other side of the world from the simple gnome apartments underground in the Magenta Forest. Fiddle D. Jibbit, the ancient pollywoggle master of Alchemy, lived almost as far away as Master Aju far to the East in the Red Swamp south of Pollywoggle Harbor. The High Elf of Magic was the fifth wizened mage and his school for magic was much closer in the northwest Woodlands of Mystery.
So, Jajko and Majko sent Hajko off to join the elven school of magic when he was still very young. As fate would have it, he was the same age as Equity and Iniquity, the especially gifted human twins, and grew up with them. The vast majority of students at the elven schools were obviously elves, so Hajko and Equity became fast friends. Hajko had a crush on Iniquity from the moment he met her when he was very young, but his shy and timid nature kept him from ever even talking to her.
Hajko grew and excelled in many forms of magic, however, Iniquity's natural talent for plant magic urged him to study it especially, so it would give him reasons to be near her. He still never spoke a word to her. It is unknown if Iniquity even knew Hajko held a spark of love for her in his heart, but she did admire his skill with plants as he became as adept with that form of magic as she.
When it became time for Hajko to leave the school he was offered an apprenticeship directly under the High Elf of Magic. Only a very select few were ever given this honor, and as luck would have it, his life-long friend Equity was among those few. Iniquity, on the other hand, was not, as she was given an even higher honor to tend to the phoenix aviary. Hajko knew that his post under the High Elf of Magic would keep him in the Woodlands of Mystery his entire life and that Iniquity would remain at the aviary far north on the boarder of the Orange and Blue Realms.

Hajko wept in silence the night of his graduation, for he knew he would never see his beloved Iniquity again and he hated that his shy timid nature held him back from ever confronting her with his feelings. The day after graduation, Hajko climbed high into the treetops to watch Iniquity fly off toward the north on her flying carpet. He stayed there among the Woodlands canopy for hours after he couldn't even see her as a speck on the horizon any more.
Taking his heavy heart, Hajko joined his new brethren at feet of the High Elf of Magic. The High Elf of Magic knew of Hajko's emotional pain and would often take walks with him. This was unheard of and made Hajko feel special and important. The High Elf of Magic never revealed his own name to anyone. However, he did reveal it to Hajko. It will not be written here.
The High Elf of Magic told Hajko that he could sense the future in Hajko and someday Hajko's fear and cowardice would be put to the ultimate test, the outcome of that test would alter the fate of Midieville itself. Hajko took this to mean that one day soon he would find his courage. Hajko was wrong.
One day a giant scorpion from The Yellow Desert ventured into the Woodlands of Mystery and The High Elf of Magic sent Hajko to tame it with the trees. Hajko thought this must be the time when his courage would be tested and he would be victorious. Hajko lifted himself high into the trees and used his magic to wrap limbs around the scorpion. Many elves watched in both terror and awe at the feat. Hajko had succeeded in binding the scorpion, but then he noticed Iniquity was riding on its back. His success turned to anxiety and confusion. He could feel her rage and lust for power and he knew he should stand up against her.
Hajko released the scorpion and stayed in the treetops out of fear. He watched as the scorpion killed several elven guards and civilians on Iniquity's march to the mediation chamber of the High Elf of Magic. Hajko was petrified by his own fear and watched as the scorpion shrunk down into a magic bracelet on Iniquity's right wrist. She used a magic he had never seen and froze Equity at the door of the meditation chamber.
Hajko couldn't believe that she would harm even her own brother. Hours turned to days and Hajko's hunger eventually drove him down out of the treetops. Almost all of the apprentices to the High Elf of Magic had been slain by Iniquity's magic scorpion, only a frozen Equity, a freshly appointed duo of apprentice elves named Enza and Iemae, and Hajko remained. Hajko knew he couldn't let his failure consume him and he took it upon himself to continue the teachings of the High Elf of Magic. Enza was a young male elf and Iemae a female elf. Hajko taught them everything he could and when he ran out of knowledge to teach them, the three ventured into the Elven Halls of

Record and they learned more there. All the while wondering what Iniquity was doing in the meditation chamber of the High Elf of Magic for so long.
Months passed and life in the Elf Kingdom resumed a sense of normalcy. Another class of students graduated and Hajko took the entire class under himself to build a sorcerer army to be ready in case Iniquity would venture out of the meditation chamber in the event she defeated the High Elf of Magic. Hajko and his pupils tried several ways to enter the chamber and also to unfreeze Equity; all attempts failed.
Then one day the chamber doors burst open and Iniquity pranced out, her wickedness now consumed her as her skin glowed like fire and her eyes shown with hate and a lust for power. She glanced at her brother, raised an eyebrow, then vanished in a spectacular fireball. As soon as she vanished Equity was able to move again. Hajko and his students ran to Equity's aid, but Equity quickly threw them off and ran inside the meditation chamber of the High Elf of Magic.
Many of the students wanted to run in, but Hajko held out his hands to signal them to stop. Hajko let Equity have his time alone with his master. Equity came out after a few hours and said the master was nearly dead. He looked at Enza and Iemae and said, "guard him." They went in and Equity left the Woodlands in search of his sister.
Hajko stood there in silent shock, his remaining pupils asking what they should do. Eventually Hajko told them to go to their childhood homes and take a month to say their goodbyes, to then return, and real training would begin. They went their separate ways and Hajko entered the meditation chamber where The High Elf of Magic lay dying. He was emaciated, his eyes were glazed, half open and unblinking. Hajko fell to his knees at the sight of this once great elf.
"Do not think you have failed, my dear Hajko," the High Elf of Magic's voice filled Hajko's mind, "The trial ahead is your real test."
The High Elf of Magic breathed his last. Hajko, Enza, and Iemae preformed the ancient elven burial ritual on the spot of his death. The meditation chamber was sealed and came to be known as the tomb of the First High Elf of Magic. The High Elf of Magic had been so old many speculated that he was one of the first elves created back at the dawn of creation.
Hajko told Enza to seek out Equity and aid him. He then took Iemae to a secret place and told her The High Elf of Magic's true name. He said it was now her true name and he appointed her as the New High Elf of Magic.

Hajko journeyed home to his parents, he spoke nothing of what had transpired, but told them that this would likely be the only time he would have a chance to visit them. When it was time for his pupils to return to him, he also returned to the Woodlands of Mystery. Upon his return he discovered that Iniquity had taken a young Satyr as her apprentice and the two of them had magically sealed themselves in the Elven Hall of Records.
The magic seal was stronger than Hajko could break. He took his pupils to the New High Elf of Magic and asked her advice for what to do next. She said she could foresee that Iniquity would leave the Woodlands of Mystery in peace this time, but they should all prepare for her next return for then she would come with an army and intention to conquer. Many of the students said they should stop her now when she leaves in peace, but the New High Elf of Magic meditated on this for quite a while and explained that a series of events were about to unfold that none could alter.
"We must allow Iniquity and her apprentice to leave these lands peacefully, for when she returns here, she will believe she can conquer the land without a fight."
So, Hajko and the New High Elf of Magic took their students to the sentry elf school. This was a breach of protocol since every elf was supposed to have one chosen profession and skill and not more than one. However, the High Elf of Magic draws a great deal of respect among the elf community and this held true for the New High Elf of Magic as well.
Months turned to years and the elves of magic with Hajko at their side, learned ancient martial arts from the sentry elves.
One day a terrible earthquake struck the heart of the Magenta Forest and it was greatly felt in the Woodlands of Mystery. The New High Elf of Magic knew this was the sign they had been waiting for. It had been the moment that Iniquity sacrificed a young innocent fairy and bound her spirit to that of the Magenta Forest. The New High Elf of Magic knew Iniquity's next stop would be the Woodlands of Mystery, so they readied for battle.
However, Iniquity did not come to the Elf Kingdom, she flew past it with an army of fairies and went directly to the peaceful centaur territory. Hajko received a phoenix from Equity that his sister was planning on killing one young innocent female in every realm. Hajko knew this came from the story of Giantus and the lost White Realm, for he too had studied all the histories in the Elven Hall of Records
Hajko was given the rank of general and led the elf sentries and sorcerers east to the centaur realm to try and prevent Iniquity from performing the sacrifice ritual. When

they arrived, the fairies were already battling the peaceful and frightened centaurs. Hajko sought out Iniquity and for the first time in his life he spoke to her.
"Iniquity, you never knew this, but I loved you when we were children." Hajko tried to appeal to any shred of goodness that might remain in his old friend.
"I always knew, but why would I want to be with a tiny little gnome!" Iniquity laughed.
Hajko's heart broke at her words, but he finally found his courage. He used the trees to battle her and the two faced off for several hours. In the midst of this battle, Hajko noticed that Iniquity had a wand in addition to her scorpion bracelet. All she had to do was touch someone on the forehead with the tip of her wand and they would fall dead. She seemed to receive pleasure from this as she would breathe deeply closing her eyes momentarily and smiling slightly as her victims fell.
Hajko realized that she had perfected an absorbing death touch with this wand, an ancient evil magic he had only read one account of. That wand was pulling the spirit, knowledge, and magic power from its victims and transferring all of it to Iniquity. If Hajko let her touch him he would die. During his battle, many of his pupils fell as they tried to stop Iniquity. Only a very few elves were left alive, luckily the New High Elf of Magic was among them.
Hajko knew that if they remained elf magic would be lost forever. He ordered a retreat and let the trees go offering himself as a willing victim for Iniquity's wand so his friends could escape. Iniquity grinned widely and told him now he could finally be with her forever in a way.
Hajko stood proud and courageous as he waited for the star at the end of the wand to touch his forehead. But just as it was about to touch him he was lifted up by a pig centaur and the entire world vanished around him.
Hajko was dangling from the centaurs arm as he looked at his surroundings. He was in the ancient lost purple realm. The centaur stopped charging and set Hajko down. He introduced himself as Mubap the first centaur sorcerer and master of space and time. Mubap and Hajko discussed all they had individually learned about Iniquity and decided they would search throughout the past in all the realms to find a way to truly stop her.
After many adventures in amazing lands now long forgotten Hajko and Mubap returned to their time. They had appeared in the Marketplace of the Kingdom of Men and came across an old Pollywoggle named Norbit, someone they had met in the past, and urged him to come with them to defeat Iniquity. up with ten other sorcerers, some of whom they had met in the past, and others from their own lives, Enza the elf was among them as was Equity.
Each of the 13 sorcerers used their own unique skills to stop Iniquity. In their time away, she had succeeded in binding her soul to each of the 8 remaining realms. However, Hajko and Mubap had learned magic and knowledge unavailable to Iniquity, ancient magic. Hajko let the Pollywoggle distract Iniquity with his talents while he stole her wand with the branch of a tree using his plant magic and touched the wand to her forehead. All her knowledge was pulled into the trees and Hajko used ancient magic to turn the trees into pages containing her magic, so she wouldn't be lost or killed, for that could result in the end of all Midieville. Equity used his magic to turn his sister's shell of a body into a box for the pages.
After Iniquity was safely contained Equity gave her the new name of The Magic Spellbook and he gave himself the new name of The Master Magician. Hajko was given the new name of Bruce, and the other sorcerers were each given new names as well. Equity had used his magic to thread all of their powers together in an invisible intangible web of magic with himself at the center. This was another key to stopping Iniquity, since she had absorbed so many sorcerers' and sorceresses' magic they couldn't have stopped her with the power of each man on his own.
The sacrifices Iniquity had made in each realm left reality unstable. For ages some of the elements of reality had been unstable due to the previously lost realms having been torn from reality. It was Mubap (now named George) who suggested that each of them should govern an element of reality and restore balance to the world. The 12 elements of reality were assigned to the sorcerers, now remade into wizards, with the Master Magician as the one to govern the wizards. The magic threads remained between the 13 and they each took up residence in a land not of their own kind.
Bruce went to live just outside the Greckle Kingdom to keep an eye on them and govern the element of Flora. Being assigned the Teal Wizard, he fashioned his home to remind him of the lost Teal Realm he and George (then Mubap) had once visited. It was a very scary place full of monsters. Bruce had long since found his courage, so he didn't have anything to fear any longer.

The Dwarf of Kindess and Caring
PG 1
This tale takes place in the age before the age of Wizards, maybe even an age before that. It is so hard to tell when one age stops and another begins. The time of this story is not that important, just that it was so long ago that most of those that were around then aren't around anymore and the few who are have probably forgotten.
I think the dwarf for this story was called Emlirn, but it was so long ago, and that name has not been spoken or thought of in so long that I could be mistaken. Let's just agree that it was Emlirn and we'll proceed as such. Today dwarves are craftsmen, builders and laborers of all sorts, but in the days when Emlirn was very young dwarves were carpenters only.
As most in Midieville know, dwarves are all male and do not take to marriage or have offspring as humans would. Instead, when a dwarf is exceedingly pleased with his workmanship his pride bursts forth from his head as a sparkle of light and plants itself into the ground. A few years later the sparkle of light forms into a fully grown bearded dwarf and he dusts himself off, stretches, grabs a tool, and begins working. Dwarves tend not to pay attention to where their sparks of light land, or who their particular offspring are, instead all of the dwarf community just works and teaches the newly dusted dwarves as needed.
That was the way of things in the dwarf realm for as long as anyone could remember, except with Emlirn. Emlirn had a father, Dwedar, whose work on a particular bed was so very pleasing to him that he kept watch over the patch of dirt where his light spark fell. Dwedar spoke to the patch and would set his wonderfully made bed up beside the slowly forming dirt patch and sleep by it every night.
Nobody knows if it was because Emlirn was especially slow growing for no particular reason, or if it was because Dwedar devoted so much of his free time to talking to him, but Emlirn stayed in the ground for exactly ten years! Most dwarves would dust themselves off and begin work anywhere from one to four years after the light spark planted them. Though, dwarves didn't really know how long it took since none of them cared to pay that much attention. Dwedar was the first real father any dwarf ever had and because of this Emlirn felt loved in a way that no dwarf before him. This gave him a sense of kindness and caring for others. Most dwarves weren't selfish per say, they just went about their work and devoted themselves to their tasks.
Emlirn's kindness and caring for others changed the whole dwarf community. For the first time in the history of dwarves, they stopped and took notice of things other than their own work. This didn't cause them to adopt the sense of caring and kindness that Emlirn had, but instead caused a sliver of fear and doubt to creep into their hearts.

They were still relatively benevolent creatures overall, but they started to talk about how Emlirn didn't belong.
A small rebellion broke out among the dwarves and grew, the rebellious dwarves no longer worked, but instead they plotted a way to get rid of Emlirn because his difference changed their way of life. No dwarf had ever been killed, ever. Dwarves simply lived a few hundred years and then when they were ready to die, they simply fell apart becoming a pile of dirt and were no more. But the rebellion changed the hearts of some dwarves, the sliver of fear and doubt took root and became hatred. Seventeen dwarves in total decided that the real problem was not Emlirn, but Dwedar and they took their tools and set about to kill him.
Kill him they did, but at such a great cost. Each of the seventeen who took the life of Dwedar were instantly turned to rock. Their vile expressions frozen in plain sight to all who looked upon the rock. Today that is where ring rock stands because time has eroded the forms of the dwarves away and all that remains is a lumpy ring around the spot where Dwedar fell to the dirt. A reminder that dwarves should never kill another dwarf.
But that is only the tale of Dwedar and this is the tale of Emlirn. As soon as the death of his father became known to him Emlirn knew he would be next. Fearing his gifts of kindness and caring would be wasted if he stayed, Emlirn left the dwarf realm. The first dwarf to leave an never return. Emlirn was unaware of the dangers of the wild world and first came upon a Minotaur battle camp. He was unaccustomed to other creatures but his kindness and caring made him naive and trusting. Emlirn walked into the largest tent and found a table of lavish meats and drink. As he reached out to take a bone with some cooked meat he did not recognize, he heard a roar so loud and fierce that he fell over.
Emlirn tried to talk to the large beastly creature who loomed over him, but he soon realized that minotaurs do not speak the tongues of men and dwarf. Emlirn ran out of the camp looking back as he ran, and straight into the battle between greckles and minotaurs. Now, this battle was actually a game played between these peoples and the day was a day of festivities. However, minotaurs and greckles are both grumpy warrior creatures, and to anyone who isn't a minotaur or greckle seeing what Emlirn witnessed that day, they too would mistake it for a violent battle.
Emlirn dodged between hooves and rock feet running as fast as his tiny legs would carry him. Then he realized he wasn't running on anything at all, but was floating, being carried on a bed of light. It was the pixies who saw the poor Emlirn and took pity on him. They carried him to their secret land above the clouds and there he stayed for more years than he could count.

Emlirn studied magic from the king of the pixies and eventually became one of the greatest sorcerers the world of Midieville had ever known. He remained in the pixie realm hearing stories of the various peoples below. Knowing in his heart that one day he would be tasked with sharing his gifts of kindness and caring. Eventually, he decided it was time to leave his adopted kin. Emlirn set about to make peace with all creatures.
For hundreds of years Emlirn wandered the world learning all he could and helping different peoples of different races. He felt compassion for the griffins when their kingdom was destroyed and personally dealt with Racl the vile dragon/griffin creature. With all of Emlirn's magic and caring he could not turn Racl's heart around, so out of compassion for both Racl and the rest of Midieville, Emlirn placed a sleeping spell on Racl, one that would last for two ages. When Emlirn learned of a young sorceress by the name of Iniquitie he took an interest in her and tried to teach her the values of kindness and caring. His advice fell on deaf ears and Emlirn realized that Iniquitie would soon become a great evil in the world. Fearing for the land and all the creatures and peoples he loved so dearly, Emlirn sought help.
Emlirn did not have long to search, for in the land of men he came upon a young sorcerer who seemed to have even more kindness and caring than he himself. This young sorcerer was also searching for help to stop Iniquitie's evil. Together they went to many different lands finding other sorcerers of goodness. Eventually they were a team of 13 and they faced off against the sorceress Iniquitie. By that time she had grown so evil and powerful that her own existence was tied with the world. All of Midieville grew dark as she sapped the magic from the land and its peoples. The young sorcerer was wise and cunning, and he decided that it would take all 13 of them working together to save Midieville.

Iniquitie had taken up residence in the magenta forest, using the magic of the trees there to create a palace for her. With the powers of the 13 focused against Iniquitie, they were able to strip her of each of her spells one by one pressing them into the trees which became pages containing the spells in an ancient language. When Iniquitie had been stripped hollow from her magic, she warned them that if they killed her the world itself would die. The young sorcerer was aware of this and he had the other 12 grant him dominion over their powers. This gave him the strength to turn Iniquitie into a box and the 12 used their strength to force the pages of her spells into that box.
The box was now the greatest book of spells, collecting all the most powerful and amazing magic that once had been free in Midieville. Some magic still remained in the world and spells could be discovered on their own, but the spells within the book not
only held magic, but evil and wickedness. The box was given a new name, the Spellbook, and the book forgot that her old name was Iniquitie.
The world was shaken and reality itself unstable by the dreadful evil of Iniquitie and her spells. The young sorcerer knew that the only way to combat this instability was that the 13 would have to keep the elements of reality in balance. Names are powerful and if he were to speak the name of Iniquitie again it would set her free from the shape of the box. The sorcerer renamed himself The Master Magician and with his new name he forgot his old name and the name of iniquitie.
The Master Magician gathered twelve trees, twelve jewels and twelve metals from all over the world and formed them together into twelve different staffs, each comprised of one type of wood, jewel and metal. These staffs held within them the power of stability over one element of reality: Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Flora, Fauna, Weather, Time, Day, Night, Light, and Shadow. The Master Magician gave a staff to each of the twelve along with a colored cloak and hat and finally a new name. A strange name to the land of Midieville. The twelve were no longer sorcerers, but wizards, the first wizards ever in the history of Midieville. Emlirn became Marvin the blue wizard whose staff kept weather in balance.
Since each of the twelve were different races The Master Magician decided that they should all look after a race not of their own kind. Marvin was given the humans to look after and he built himself a simple hut in the woods not far from the human city where he still resides to this day.
